Fresh from NAMM 2009

Buff herself! Our journey has ended and we bring exciting news from Anaheim. For those of you questioning the abbreviation, there is a show put on by the National Association for Music Merchants in Anaheim where buyers and sellers in the industry come together to discuss, release, and show-off their latest and greatest! Quite the spectacle indeed.

This year provided everything that we expected: Big Names boasting Big artists playing cool products!

The Gear!
We had meetings all weekend with brands like Fender, Orange, Hagstrom, Breedlove, Taylor, Line 6, and so many more. Here are some of the highlights!

Gibson Darkfire

Buff herself! If you have read any guitar magazine in the last three months, then you have undoubtedly seen teasers for Gibsons latest gem, The Darkfire. A follow up version of last years robot guitar, The Darkfire brings quicker tuning and a wider variety of tones to the table.
Vaguely gimmicky but it has it’s applications also!

The Realist String Pickup

I met Paul Dateh through a recording session in late August this year and he has continually impressed me with talent and knowledge. One of the companies he spoke of during the session was David Gage. The staff at the booth was very informative and helped me with my seemingly never ending search for a strong toned cello pickup. They offered one to me to try and I must say that it seems to meet or exceed every expectation I have had. I have some shows in Feb with it so I’m sure there will be more comments coming soon.
