Lessons - Instructors

Lessons are 30 min blocks, once a week  but longer one’s can be arranged.

Please bring your own guitar, ukelele, mandolin, or violin but other instruments and amps are provided. We have 5 lesson rooms with various equipment in each.

Each teacher has slightly different policies and payment options but charge $25 per lesson with no long term contract.

Nate Soule - Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet


Nate Soule teaches saxophone and other wind instruments here at RMC. He has a degree in Music Education and is music director at the Ramona Lutheran School. He also works with students at Olive Pierce Middle School and with the jazz program at Ramona High School. As a multi-instrumentalist/vocalist, he performs with several bands in the San Diego area. Currently he is available for students on Wed. afternoons at RMC.

Andrew Stubbs - Cello, Violin

Andrew Stubbs has played the violin for 35 years. Schooled at Cal State Northridge and San Diego State, he attended the prestigious Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute in the summersof 1989, 1990. Mr Stubbs plays violin, viola, and cello at a professional level. Extensive professional performance has included concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, Copley Symphony Hall, and the East County Performing Arts Center. One of his most recent posts was principal cellist of the Palomar Symphony Orchestra.

Sharon Whyte - Piano

Sharon Whyte (keyboards, vocals) has been  playing and singing professionally since 1986,
backing artists such as Kenny Loggins, Eric Johnson, America, Kim Carnes, Juice Newton,
BJ Thomas, Chris Hillman, Billy Ray Cyrus, Suzy Boggus, Dan Seals, Jamie O’Neil, Albert
Lee, Ty Herndon, Collin Raye, Jordan Pruitt and others, as well as touring with original
groups and playing corporate events throughout the US, UK and Canada.
With a background starting in classical piano, her playing styles encompass all music genres. (more…)

Chuck Preble - Banjo




Playing professionally since 1969.
Singer/songwriter, flute, guitarist, mandolin and frontman for the
Progressive Rock group ISRAEL BISSELL. Also member of the group HERITAGE
that plays early American music from 1700s to early 1800s.

Times available Now! Currently teaching on Fridays.

Indian Joe - Guitar

Marcus Descartin - Drums


Marcus has been teaching here for over a year and with a laid back, rock solid style, has contributed greatly to our teaching staff. With a flair for in the “pocket” grooves and dynamics, he surely could teach us all a lot!

"Jammin’" Jim Nowlan - Guitar

  • Jim Nowlan Guitar, Bass and Theory instructor,
    has been with the music store from the very beginning.

    Hailing from the Motor City, Jim moved to San Diego
    in the mid 80s and has played with such bands as:
    Slick Surface, Dungeon and The Classics.

    Schooled at Ohio State Jim has been teaching guitar for more
    than 15 yrs, bringing fun an enlightenment to all his students.
    This makes him one of the most sought after guitar instructors
